StAlbans ESOL

ESOL students are those students who speak a language other than English. They may have newly arrived, been born or have lived in New Zealand for some time, but speak a language other than English. When a student whose first language is not English, arrives in the school an initial language assessment will be made by the ESOL teacher. That teacher will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide support for the students.
